Eating nutrient rich foods

Eat Whole Grains, Fruits, and Vegatables

Moderate portions

Maintain healthy weight

Regular Meals

Reduce or eliminate bad foods

Balance food intake

Understand diet pitfalls

Make regular and gradual diet changes

Not all foods are good foods

Most people simply overlook the fat aspect. While we focus so much on caloric intake in our diets, dietary fat on the other hand is often overlooked. Its important to note that fat is important and an essential nutrient that we need in order to stay healthy.

Fat is an energy source that help care fat soluble vitamins for growth and development. It also plays an important part in taste and the textural qualities of food.

Obviously, everything within moderation. Too much fat can increase the risk of heart disease, obesity, and other life altering problems.

Like many cities across the country, we strive to provide residents with access to amenities that promotes healthy living. As you know, a healthy community means a happier community. Promoting healthy outdoor activities is important, and it starts with community based organizations and political agencies that want to help local neighborhoods. Access to things like full service grocery stores, safe places for outdoor activities, and abundant public transportation helps make for a more physical and healthier lifestyle.

For the past 5 years, AHealthierTomorrow has been focused on productive partnerships throughout the United States to promote public health awareness and active eating lifestyles. With partnerships with urban planners, dieticians, transit authorities, pubic health practitioners and more. The partnerships strive to develop strategic alliances that help influence local low income neighborhoods.

Building on the Healthy Eating Initiative passed in Congress in 2008, the Affordable Eating and Health care initiative strives to make a difference in local communities everywhere. By providing access to healthier food education, diet plans, and outdoor activities for everyone. It starts with a change of the local community before the national changes can be seen.

The Bishop initiative is one that takes a systematic approach to find policy and environmental solutions to improving our lifestyles through eating and active living. Families commonly found in affordable housing structures struggle to get the bare essentials for food and outdoor activities for a healthy and long lifestyle. To meed a number of basic needs such as adequate food, public transportation, community gardens and even urban agriculture goes a very long ways.

By working with GIS mapping companies and the communities we can help show where adequate levels of distribution should occur but that isn’t. Most families living in low income or fixed rental apartments have a lack of access to affordable full service grocery stores. They also have a lack of infrastructure for even safe walking commutes, biking or outdoor recreation. The current data and preexisting data reports of conditions that are not allowing for a prosperous growth in many neighborhoods across the United States.

“We’ve already got reports from local GIS mapping companies that the infrastructure for inequalities exists” – Bob Smith, GISCapatlists

The keys to success for our first upcoming board meetings requires that we have compliance from everyone involved. We need parent teacher associations, we need unions, and we need members of everywhere to come together and help make your community a better place to live.
