Moral Analysis
As part of the thorough process regarding the proposed affiliation agreement between CMC Healthcare System (CMCHS) and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health, the President and CEO, along with the approval of the Board of Directors of CMC commissioned Ronald Hamel, PhD, Senior Director, Ethics of The Catholic Health Association to review the proposal documents. [Dr. Hamel holds a doctorate in Catholic moral theology with a specialization in health care ethics from Fordham University, N.Y.] The following executive summary highlights Dr. Hamel’s findings. This analysis is being submitted as part of the final application to the New Hampshire Attorney General and for the review by both CMCHS and DHH boards and trustees as well as the Office of the Bishop of Manchester.
